Who we are

For more than a quarter of a century Mailbox Express has been making deliveries on time, every time. We offer a flexible, reliable service that’s grounded in two and a half decades spent getting to know our customers.

Everything we do – from our same-day delivery to our highly specialised medical and legal services – starts with our customers’ needs, whether that means ultra-technical transit requirements or seamless integration into their operations.

Since we started in 1994 we’ve grown our network to include locations in Leeds, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol, Sheffield, Harrogate, Newcastle, Liverpool, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester, with delivery services that cover same-day, next-day, super-fast, international, medical, legal, aviation and more.

As a business we don’t just have a responsibility to our customers, we have an obligation to our people, our communities and to the world at large.

That means going beyond the requirements of the law to consider the effect every aspect of our business has on every part of the world we touch.

It means going further still to make positive contributions to society.

In our communities, that means contributing to the causes that matter to us by donating money, logistics support and, most importantly, time. We have a standing arrangement to support Andy’s Man Club by providing them with a vehicle. We’ve donated tens of thousands of pounds worth of time and resources to the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. We encourage our partners to get behind the causes that matter, too.

On the road, taking responsibility for our impact means Mailbox Express operates a fleet of fuel-efficient, low-emission vehicles run on biodiesel that’s 85% cleaner than regular diesel. It means always taking the most fuel-efficient routes. It means working towards a fully electric fleet.

In the office, that means minimising our paper use, always recycling, and billing clients electronically.

To encapsulate this philosophy Mailbox Express has become ISO 14001 accredited so that every part of our business works in the most sustainable way possible.

When it comes to taking responsibility and doing our bit we believe in real service, not lip service.

Andy's Man Club

One of the causes closest to the heart of Mailbox Express is mental health, and the issue of male suicide in particular.

Suicide is the biggest cause of death among men under 45 in the UK. Men aged 40-44 have the highest suicide rate in the country. Men are three times more likely to take their own lives than women. And one of the biggest reasons for that is that men are simply less likely to open up about their problems and seek help.

That’s why Andy’s Man Club is so important – it offers a non-judgemental space where men from all walks of life can open up about their feelings. It started with nine men in Halifax and now has 28 clubs across the UK (and counting).

Andy’s Man Club doesn’t need money – it needs help, so we support it in the best way we know how. We have a standing arrangement to help the club by providing a vehicle for them. The club uses it to get new local groups off the ground, travel the country to visit those already running and to deal with logistics for their events. It’s a small thing to do, but it makes a real difference.

We really made use of the truck on our facilitator weekend, getting vital club provisions to the base for the facilitators to take back to their clubs with them.
